Gift Shop

Open to museum and non-museum visitors alike, our gift shop offers a dose of retail therapy with a unique twist. Whether you are looking for a gift for a friend or colleague, or a souvenir of your visit, be sure to take a look at our range of medically themed products.

Accessibility

The museum is fully accessible throughout with plenty of seating on the way round. We have a level access toilet and lift to all floors.

Visual and hearing impairment

The galleries have hearing loops and many of our displays are interactive and can be touched and handled. Written versions of spoken displays are available. We are currently working hard to provide guides in Braille. Guide/hearing dogs are welcome.

Wheelchairs are available for loan free of charge, please call 0113 244 4343 to reserve.

Autism

Ear defenders and a ‘What to Expect’ gallery guide are available all year round from reception.

Facilities

A baby changing area is available. There is space in the entrance area for you to leave your pushchair though you are not required to do so

Coats and bags can be stored in lockers for £1.

International Visitors

Most of the explanatory texts accompanying exhibits are written in English. We are working hard to improve this.

Quiet Area

We are happy to open a classroom on request for prayer or quiet contemplation.
