We are a charity and admission fees help towards our running costs.
We are next to St James’s Hospital in Leeds, two miles from the city centre and easily reached by road and public transport.
Leeds is easily accessed by railway. Please see the Northern Rail website for details
Frequent bus services run from Leeds city centre. Numbers 16, 42, 49, 50, and 50A all stop outside the museum.
If travelling by road via the M621, follow the signs for York (A64) then follow the brown tourist signs.
From the north, take the A58 towards Leeds, and then follow the brown tourist signs.
We have an onsite Pay and Display car park at the front of the museum. The machines accept coin or card payment. Coach parking (x 2) and minibus parking (x 2) bays are available for large groups and there are four parking spaces for Blue Badge holders (free).
During peak periods, alternative Pay and Display parking is available opposite St James’s Hospital on Beckett Street or in the multi-storey car park at the rear of the Bexley Wing, both just a few minutes walk away. Please note that these car parks are not associated with the museum.

- Up to 2 hours £2.00
- Up to 4 hours £4.00
£4 for four hours is the MAXIMUM that any museum visitor need pay.
Any museum visitors who wish to stay longer than 4 hours, and anyone attending a full day conference/event pays just £4. Please pay as normal at the machine and obtain an EXTENSION PERMIT from the museum reception to display in your vehicle.
For people using our car park who are non-museum visitors, the following tariffs apply in addition to those shown above:

- Up to 8 hours £10.00
- Up to 24 hours £13.00
