Katie is our official LEGO® Build Coordinator and has the exciting job of bringing the museum to life in LEGO bricks.
Why did you apply to be the museum’s master builder?
I have loved LEGO since I was very small. Getting to rummage through the giant box of tiny bricks and make something totally new from them was just the most exciting thing, so when I saw the opportunity to become master builder, I jumped at the chance!
What do you love about LEGO?
There are billions of ways to make billions of designs straight from your imagination. LEGO lets people create vast worlds that can both replicate and put a new spin on the familiar. I love that it is something everyone can enjoy; it doesn’t matter if you are young, old, artistic, mathematical or anything else, you can build something brilliant.
What are you most looking forward to in the project?
I’m most looking forward to being able to see the structure physically grow. With all the help from the public in laying down the bricks, we will be able to see the building entering existence and get an amazing new perspective into the historical building of Thackray Medical Museum.
