Join us this Halloween from 6-9pm for an evening involving surgery, autopsy and heart dissections. We’ll be displaying a range of tools and objects used in surgery and autopsy over the years. When you arrive you’ll be able to handle tools like a brain scoop and hold a mallet designed for cracking skulls while marvelling at the sharper objects such as saws used to cut through bone. A member of our collections team will be there to discuss the significance of these objects and answer any questions.
You’ll also take part in a heart dissection workshop delivered with the perfect balance of gore and fascination by a medical professional from St James’ Hospital.
Tickets are £10 and two heart dissections workshops are available to choose from.
